In this open level workshop, we are going to peel apart the Twist Study from Datura. One of my favorites, it focuses on footwork for powering pivots, axial extension, clarity in wave step, hip twist, and two challenging combinations. This is a very sweaty class, so bring your notebook, water and a snack

In this class, we build on our home positions, adding in Hip Twist Variation, Wave Step Fakeout, Pivot hip, Double Bump Fakeout, and possibly a few extras. Special attention given to performing each new step precisely, “on both sides” and in the context of duet and trio improvisation. You must have submitted your Datura Level 1 test videos in order to attend this workshop. Register Here
Level 1 Testing
Let’s roll together the benefits of a private lesson WITH our Level 1 dance test. You will have a chance to run through with guidance and get questions answered before you begin the test. Grading will happen in-the-moment so that results are instant and dancers can go home with clear and relevant feedback to take with them into more advanced lessons. Testing day will be Sunday, August 31, and times can be determined through private messaging. Once registered, Ashley will contact you with the address of her private home studio and hammer out the details. This meeting is for 1 hour.
